A Weekend In The Blue Mountains

Posted on: May 4, 2016 Category: Lifestyle

Last weekend, we headed up to the Blue Mountains for a rejuvenating weekend away. We booked a beautiful architecturally designed mountain home via AirBNB, which was surrounded by the bush land (check out that outdoor deck area)!

We went abseiling and canyoning the first day in Katoomba, where we abseiled down Empress Falls after trekking through the Valley of the Waters. The rest of the weekend was intended for relaxing adventures, exploring, and rejuvenating in Mama Nature.

I loved both Katoomba and Leura, and they both had a really relaxed vibe with boutiques and hippy cafes/juiceries. We stopped at Rubyfruit for a smoothie and an energy ball, and then had lunch at The Garage. The Leura Harvest Festival was on too, so we were in for a real treat! Lots of market stalls along Leura Village, where we also popped in and out of boutique stores and art galleries.

We drove up to Blackheath to Govetts Leap Lookout, where we had magnificent views of the valley – a definite must do when in the mountains. After enjoying the sight and taking it all in in awe, we headed down to Echo Point in Katoomba, Sublime Point Lookout in Leura, and all the way to Wentworth Falls before making our way back to Sydney. The epic views were surely an expansive experience!

I’ve definitely fallen in love with the mountains! It’s incredible how a fun weekend away (somewhere different, somewhere exciting) can open up the floodgates to lots more inspiration, creative ideas, and fresh new energy – watch this space!

Have you been to the Blue Mountains? What were your favourite spots to visit?

Also, any ideas on where should we head to for our next weekend getaway? ;-)

With love,
