Do you have dull, poor skin and experience break outs regularly?
Do want radiant, glowing skin?
Do you want long-lasting energy to do the things you love and enjoy?

I have just the solution for you!

Here’s my secret to glowing radiant and smooth skin and longer lasting energy.

We drink a green smoothie almost everyday in the morning. My sister used to have breakouts, but after starting this morning ritual, her skin has dramatically improved and is glowing and flawless right now! My skin used to be dull, but after starting a green smoothie ritual I’ve noticed my skin improve so much and my energy is longer-lasting as well.

Green smoothies are packed full of fiber, nutrients, minerals and enzymes!

Ingredients:
2 handfuls organic kale*
3 stalks organic celery
1 1/2 cups filtered water
1/2 Lemon (Peeled) or 1/2 Lemon’s Juice
1 small organic apple
1 banana
1/2 tsp maca powder (optional)
1/2 Tbs super greens powder (optional)

*Organic lettuce and spinach are great too, and I love rotating my greens depending on what I find in the farmers markets that week. Personally, I’d stay away from rockets though – I tried adding them once and whoa the smoothie was very rocket-y (?)

Add all the ingredients in a blender (I love using my Vitamix) and blend till smooth. Serve. This recipe makes 2 large cups of green smoothie!

Why Glow-Green Smoothie?

A little breakdown:

  • Lemons are associated with supporting the liver’s function and tissue regeneration. Packed with Vitamin C, it also helps rebuild collagen in your skin to give you beautiful skin!
  • Celery has a diuretic effect and will help you flush toxins out from the body.
  • Kale (holy kale!) is filled with vitamins, minerals and enzymes and coupled with banana, will give you a huge burst of long-lasting energy.
  • Maca for long-lasting energy. (optional)
  • Greens powder for another boost of chlorophyll. (optional)

How glorious is the green colour?

This smoothie is DELICIOUS. And not to mention – the benefits to your skin, energy and health that you will receive.

As you can tell, I am a huge advocate and very passionate about my green smoothies and green drinks. And the good news is – Wellness WA is having a Green July month!

  1. I love green smoothies. I drink a smoothie daily as well. I have mine after my workout. My favorite is blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, ground flax seed, banana or avocado, spinach or kale, rice milk or water, and protein powder. I make a variety of smoothies though. I joined the smoothie a day event even though I already do it because I think it’ll be a cool way to join a group of like-minded people and share recipes. Thanks for this post, Jia Ni!

    • Yum! Sounds delicious. That’s awesome – I skip a few days sometimes but joining Green July is going to motivate me to drink my green smoothies daily. :D Thanks for dropping by Leanne! xo

  2. Thanks for the wonderful recipe Jia Ni!! I love green smoothies too and try and have at least one a day :) You have a wonderful looking website – Keep up the great work!! :)

  3. Once blended, how long does it last in the fridge? I realise the longer you leave it, the less useful nutrients it contains.
