There is a time — for everything.
A time for sowing seeds.
A time for reaping rewards.
A time to leap before the net appears.
A time to patiently wait for evidence before taking action.
A time to push through resistance, and charge forward.
A time to step back, relax, and reassess – in the face of resistance.
A time to grow exponentially.
A time to grow slow.
A time to go ALL in.
A time to be risk averse.
A time to just do it.
A time to take your time figuring and feeling (things out), before doing it.
A time of partnership.
A time of flying solo.
A few months ago, I was at the bank paying off my credit card balance and closing off the account.
Two years into starting my business I applied for them, as I knew it was a time to expand (which included investing and taking big risks).
Early this year — three years after the above incident — I felt something in me shift as I knew it was time to be free of all debt (and the only debt moving forward that felt right was our mortgage). My business had grown, and this seemed possible… And the idea of paying it all off gave me a full body YES.
I felt a deep sense of uncertainty, not knowing if this would be possible for me. Could I run a business this way? What if I *need* this in an emergency? What if it doesn’t work out? Yet, deep down I knew…
It was time for new things.
Still, a few things had to shift within me over the next 6 months in order for me to trust the timing of what I desire unfolding, like:
1. Letting go of instant gratification, of wanting what I want *now*
Once I had this vision of being debt free, I had to be OK that it didn’t happen immediately. Nor did it happen all at once. Taking time to reach your vision and your goal is good, especially when in the ‘in between’ you allow yourself to grow steadily and anchor into the new you – new habits, new thought patterns, and so on!
I had to restructure my business a little, change my mindset and habits, set new rules around how I managed my finances when it came to the business. This all took time, and I’m grateful it didn’t happen immediately or all at once – because I would have missed so much of growing, implementing, and doing things differently.
2. Love the pace of your own journey
Whatever is happening for you, is happening at the perfect speed. The goals, vision, what we want… Loving your own journey is loving the times where you grow fast AND the times where you grow slow. What matters is progress and growth (sustainably and supportively).
I’m so passionate about this, and I sincerely hope that we all love our journey. It’s something we focus on a lot in my coaching practice. There is so much we can achieve when we love our journey (and not just being fixated on loving the destination).
3. Create NEW habits and programming
Our habits and programming (conscious or unconscious) are what has shaped our current reality. In the past, I had mentors tell me businesses grow from leveraging credit cards. “Spending money to make money” was considered a norm amongst my circle and it was all I knew. That said, it was also right for me in the early stages of business — until it wasn’t right anymore.
I was craving a more sustainable way of running my business. That said, my business also required time to grow to a point where it could allow me to experience that. I knew I was at that point this year, and I had to choose new rules — like growing and running a business on cash.
There is a time for everything.
Don’t let someone else tell you what time it is — for you.
Only YOU know what time it is in your life (& business) right now.
Only YOU know what is right for you.
Trusting the timing of everything anchors deep in knowing what time it is for you (right now).
It comes from knowing, owning, and trusting what you feel is right for you.
How do you know what time it is?
+ It feels good — and right.
+ You feel (and know) that you are exactly where you need and require to be + you are doing exactly what you need to be doing.
+ Your answers are coming from within you. (And not driven by outside pressures, old beliefs, ‘should’s.)
Life has a way of telling us when we are not honouring the time for us right now.
Pushing vs. Flowing
Angst vs. Ease
Fear vs. Trust
Whatever time you are in is perfect.
The time for other experiences WILL come, and until then, let whatever it is right now be a lovely one.
Sometimes we so desperately want to be OUT of the season we are in … But why?
Can we…
LOVE every season?
Cultivate more GRACE + GRATITUDE for our time now?
And genuinely LOVE our journey?
Before you know it, a new season & time will be here.
To loving it ALL,
PS: Coaching can be really supportive in helping us discern what time you are in your life, what goals to focus on, and how to ‘max out’ the season you are currently in!
