Welcome to the second instalment of Luxury Living!
You know, for the longest time – I’d roll out of bed and the first thing I’d do was check my emails. Yes, I’m totally guilty of doing that! I thought it was “waking up productive” – but all it did was make my heart beat much faster, feel more overwhelmed, my brain all scrunched up, and I’d even get stuck in bed for the longest time thinking and grumbling ‘WHY did the night end so quickly? Raaaaah!’
So, I recently decided to introduce Morning Success Rituals into my life. The intention was to set me up for a day of continual productivity, creativity, and inspired action. It worked like a charm, and now I just can’t bear to think of going back to diving into work first thing in the morning.
Some of my morning ritual highlights:
+ Toothpaste luxury: I have two types of toothpaste in my bathroom. Having these makes me feel like I’m a queen and is just really fun for me! Haha! Currently I’ve got a mint toothpaste, and a cinnamon one. There’s really nothing like waking up, going to brush your teeth, and going ‘Ooooh, do I feel like mint OR cinnamon today?’ Makes me feel so grateful and free to be! Followed by luxury of a hot shower. It’s the littlest things! ;)
+ Conscious clothing: My body literally has a lot of fun choosing clothes to wear. I stand in front of my closet, and see what catches my eyes. Then I’ll ask the questions, ‘Body, is this what you’d like to wear today?’ And my body will respond either via muscle testing and talking to me. On a side note, I have also used this question when de-cluttering old clothing. I love giving away things that no longer bring me / my body joy – you know? Makes me feel a lot lighter and happier! Establishing body awareness and connection. Definitely tres importante!
+ Hot peppermint tea: I’ll boil a pot of hot water and have tea. I also have a galore of tea to choose from, haha! It’s a safe bet that I’ll have peppermint tea every morning though, sometimes with a squeeze of lemon too.
+ Oregano oil & Probiotics: For healthy gut, healthy brains, staying healthy in general!
+ Prayer & intention: Setting my intention for the day, lighting an incense, and sending white light and prayer to all my beautiful clients is one of the most beautiful parts of my mornings. Sometimes I’ll pair this with a card reading if I’m called to, but the more minutes I have consciously focusing on speaking with my highest Self the better Life gets. You know it!
+ Stretch & yoga: Something I enjoy, just prancing and stretching around the floor. Creating space in my body. If I’m really adventurous I’ll jump into handstands and headstands and inversions, or if I’m feeling really contracted I’ll open up space through lots of deep breathing and flexible bends. It’s ALL play!
And then, I’ll settle into my office space – which has its own consciousness and success ritual of its own to help me power up creativity, magnetize money, and attract all good things to my business.
I admit that I’m not a fan of constrictive to-dos, I’m actually terrified of having my life too structured. My ritual is extremely fluid and I go with the flow. Sometimes I’ll skip the stretching and go for a walk later in the day or go to the beach. Having rituals in my life has definitely upgraded my life in so many ways. If I’m really hungry, I’ll whip up an Acai protein smoothie to fuel and nourish me.
I believe the secret of rituals is in finding what works for you! Half the fun is in creating what works for you, tweaking and personalizing it, and half the fun is in living them out. :)
