Gah! Feeling stuck in any area of your life or business can dampen the quality of our day to day experiences. I used to hate feeling stuck so much that I would throw everything I had at getting unstuck. Over the years, I’ve learnt to look at every point of ‘stuck-ness’ as a growth opportunity to be embraced.
An opportunity for something new to come through, for something beautiful to eventuate, a transition into something more beautiful.
I invite you to approach feeling stuck not as something to be avoided or remedied a.s.a.p — but to allow ourselves to intuitively feel our way through and have exactly what experience we require to have so that we can learn and grow from this opportunity!
Whether you are deeply craving for things to be different, and change isn’t happening. Or you feel out of sync with the flow of life… My intention is that the following helps you get a little more unstuck, and a little more into flow.
Before diving into reading this blog: You might like to first think of a SPECIFIC area in your business/life where you feel stuck. Then, as you read the blog – discern which applies to you and create a place to start from there!
Reasons Why We Get Stuck + Ways to Get Unstuck
1. We lack awareness.
In a day and age where we are all surrounded by so much distraction, overstimulation, and over busyness — awareness isn’t given the space it requires to be cultivated. When we have awareness, we do things differently — in a way that invites change and transformation and what we desire into our lives!
This is why I love coaching — it provides a tool to help us be aware of what’s going on behind the scenes. Coaching gives us the space to practice self-reflection and self-inquiry.
Ways to get unstuck: Start discerning and inviting awareness into your life — look at what isn’t serving you and causing you to stay stuck, as well as what is calling you to expand. You may like to journal, join a group mastermind (check out our group mastermind Easeful here with weekly trainings and new content), or book a 1:1 coaching session to uncover more awareness.
2. We are being too rigid.
We’re all human — and we have a tendency to cling onto what feels comfortable / safe / certain. Sticking to something *no matter what* because it kinda works can often lead us to being too rigid to allow any change.
Symptoms we are being rigid in our lives: Refusing to have an open mind or change your mind when something no longer works for you. An unhealthy attachment to the form of how things unfold (it MUST turn out this way!!). Feeling stuck in an old story or identity.
Ways to get unstuck: Embrace flow and uncertainty. Trust. Allow yourself the freedom to discern at every moment what is truly right for you, right now.
3. We are caught in a fear mindset.
Fear is misplaced faith. Think about it: We fear things that haven’t happened — when it takes just as much effort to choose faith over fear.
When we are in fear, we get even more rigid (blocking flow) as we fear the unknown — fear actually manifests as frozen/paralysed physically (and of course we feel stuck)! When we choose fear over faith, we are choosing to get stuck in the old. We fear what is to come — because what if it isn’t as good or better?
Ways to get unstuck: Cultivate faith through connection with the divine, whether through meditation or prayer. I trust that the best is yet to come. Play the whole tape through — is there any legitimacy in your fear? What lessons or concerns is fear expressing to you — and how much is actually true? What can you do in response to what is true — and how can you develop faith and trust in the unknown?
4. We don’t trust ourselves.
Self trust — and trusting in our own intuitive guidance — is absolutely essential in creating change and building a life & business you love. You require to trust you and 100% have your own back! Trusting ourselves also means trusting that we will be able to handle whatever comes our way, and trusting ourselves to know exactly what to take action on.
One of the skills I help my clients develop through coaching is this self trust muscle. Imagine how empowered you can feel on a daily basis (and unstoppable, too) when you know exactly what you require to do and trust yourself to do it to align and experience your goals!
Ways to get unstuck: Develop your self trust muscle! One of the ways we can do this is through knowing yourself and being in your own energy. Start by discerning what IS you — and what ISN’T you. The more you know what is you, and take action to create a life that is aligned to you (your values, beliefs etc.) — the more you trust yourself to create even bigger and better things! I trust my journey.
Often, with patience and space to inquire within (plus more below on ways to get unstuck), we can easily get unstuck on our own.
